PURPLE

Purple is our new fish. Everytime we went to Wal-Mart this summer, Owen would ask if he could take a purple fish home with him. I would say not today, maybe next time. On our Thursday trip, he said "I take purple fish home today." So...we have a fish! He was so excited holding the container in the cart. It was precious! I figured that he had waited all summer and this was his back to school present.

It is now Sunday and purple is still alive. Owen wants to feed the fish ALL the time. Owen has a hard time understanding that the fish only eats twice a day.

Cheesing for the camera. Still sooo excited.

Owen thought if he got closer, Purple would swim over to his side (notice that the fish is on the opposite side of the bowl).

Still getting close.

Maybe I'll try this angle.

Back to School!

I started back to work last Monday with meetings all week. Tomorrow is a workday and the kids come back on Tuesday. WOW how the summer flew by. We had so much fun!!! Here are some pictures of a few important "last free weekend" activities. It is going to take all of us awhile to adjust to our new schedule.

Putting together the blue track has become a regular activity around the house.

I think I might have the camera out too much...he has started to "pose" everytime I take his picture. I'm not sure where the side thing came from?

Swimming with Jenn and the Trips!

Race track with a tunnel!

Train Invasion

Trains are taking over our house. We currently have 3 tracks set up! One in Owen's room, one in the guest bedroom on the train table, and this monster in the living room. Jeremy thought it would be fun to take out the tub of blue track and set it up in the living room. We had no instructions because we bought this from a teacher at my school (her boys had this for years). So Jeremy did a pretty good job of winging it. By the way, this isn't even half of the tracks or stations!!! As you can see, it was a hit. It stayed out for a couple of days but then I needed my space back. I guess it won't be so bad to get out every once in awhile.

Granny's house

We all met at Granny's for a quick visit. Quin and Lindsey were on vacation in Boston so Gran Jan and Boo had Piper for the weekend. Owen was so excited to see Piper! He always loves to hug and pat her (he even tried to pick her up a couple of times). He kept asking Piper if she wanted to race. Maybe she'll be ready for that next time. I love the picture where they both have their bears in blue and pink (Owen's is "bear bear" and Piper's is her "baby"). Too cute!

Gaylord Texan

We had so much fun at the Gaylord. There is always something going on! Owen loved the big train and would've stayed there forever. Kids would come up to look and Owen would begin to tell them all about the train. So funny! We also spent alot of time at the pool and just walking around looking at everything. The theme this summer is Alice in Wonderland. They had a parade with all of the characters on Friday night that was followed by fireworks. Thank goodness we could see them from our room! Owen was out like a light as soon as his head hit the pillow. Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Owen's favorite spot, the big train.

Still sooo excited about the train.

Waiting patiently for the fireworks to begin.

Saturday morning swim.

Snackin' by the pool.

Tired little boy.

Happy Anniversary!

Jermey and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary on August 2. We went to the Gaylord for a little get away. Of course we had to take Owen for one night so he could experience the hotel. He had a blast. Gran Jan and Boo kept him Saturday night. We relaxed by the pool and enjoyed sleeping late. It was a really fun time.

I am so grateful to have such a wonderful husband. I thank God everyday for bringing us together. I couldn't imagine anyone more perfect for me!

Grasshopper

Owen saw this grasshopper in the backyard and wanted me to catch it! After I caught it he just wanted me to hold it, like grasshoppers stay still.

It jumped to the window...Owen thought he would move in for a closer look.

YIKES! The grasshopper jumped over his head and his face was priceless!
